Finally had to leave liftoff today. The lack of updates and primarily the inability to block instances made me move to connect. I really liked liftoff. It was very close to Reddit is fun good.

As a past retail worker. Black Friday was miserable. I worked at Bestbuy. I saw a lot of people breakdown and quit thay day due to the stress. Don’t encourage it. If you do go out. Be respectful and remember it’s just things that don’t really matter. I have never gone out and don’t support it especially the trickling of businesses forcing employees to work on Thanksgiving.

What’s amusing is I am purposely not paying for bitwarden because of the check against darkweb leaks or whatever type feature when you pay. That’s seems like an anti privacy thing. I understand it’s a good idea albeit seems to expose a lot of information about you. I would like to do vaultwarden but don’t think I can trust self hosting myself without paying monthly for a vps which I don’t want to do. Home Internet hosting seems to unreliable to me for something that important.

I’ve had a Spotify sub for 10+ years. I’m getting really close to ditching it because imo the app design is getting worse as prices increase… I was super disappointed in the car thing too. Spotube is a really nice alternative that’s foss. Checkout https://spotube.netlify.app/.

Yeah I’m mostly on my subscription. Go to all to find new content but that’s where I’ll end up blocking communities and depending on the day that’s incredibly annoying to experience.

I think it’s unique that we see more different sides and not just a US echo chamber that reddit was. However some communities of all spectrums have their idiots and communities that brigade stuff are very annoying. The idea that these communities exist is not the problem. I just block what I don’t want to see. I am ready for the block instance by user feature. I have to play wack a mole right now.

Is the pluriverse term a jab at the fediverse? That term seems too coincidental to not be. Equivalating the fediverse to a flavor of the week social media the writer was experiencing?

I bought one too, I think for $75 pre-lauch. Very underwhelming interface… it’s barely usable. I think they discontinued them already.
