I wish there were craft sodas so that everyone would call Coke and Pepsi horse piss.
Back to videogame addiction it is boys!
What if my opinion on peanut butter is that it tastes like apples.
We were not prepared, as a species, for a device that let us come up with any opinion at all and find validation for it.
It used to be that when you had an opinion that was wrong, you’d say it out loud a number of times, and you’d notice that everyone around you would call you an imbecile and ridicule you. It would make you reassess yourself and grow as a person.
Now that societal failsafe is gone. Now people just aren’t challenged for holding the wrong opinion.
That was an integral part of growing up and maturing. We don’t have a solution for it.
Wonder what new non-crime the prison industrial complex will invent to refill the prisons after they can’t arrest people for weed.
Most people don’t use an ad blocker and most people don’t even know this drama exists.
God damn. That would be like buying a new pet like a kitten or something and then a year later finding out you can’t eat it.
Damn is Ohio really that popular
Why not just fix it and wipe the phone
Is there a place to see the backlog? Like what cases they are on each day?
Yeah I feel that.
Honestly I’m going to sound like an old man but the internet ruined society in a lot of ways. I mean I’ve enjoyed its benefits my whole life and my profession is centered around it. No doubt it has benefits.
But we were not ready for it. Technology advanced faster than human beings matured. We weren’t prepared for this thing that could grant us all of our wishes instantly.
On top of that, talking with someone on the internet is absolutely not how you talk to people in real life. Yet, most of our conversations happen on the internet. It trains you to be able to turn off experiences that you don’t like. It trains you to be uncaring towards people with no repercussions.
So when you are in the real world, it’s like you forget how to cordially coexist with people.
It is tragic. Like you said.
When you’re young, social interaction is just so engrained in your daily life.
School, hang outs, nightlife. The opportunity to be social is never ending.
But you don’t fully understand at the time that those opportunities get erased quickly, and all that’s left are the people you fully invested in when you were young.
I agree with this except for my admittedly radical opinion that anything you need to live should not be tied to work.
Food, clothes, shelter, healthcare. The bare minimum of those categories should be free. I’m talking like prison quality. You should not have to earn the right to live.
What platform are you playing BG3 on? I was thinking about trying it.
Ok going through this now.
I never thought it’d be like this though. I thought that video game would literally stop being fun. Like I’d grow out of them or something and not find them enjoyable anymore.
But that’s not it. They are still fun and enjoyable. What I didn’t expect was that my mind would be so full of responsibilities that it would just be impossible to enjoy video games. As if there just isn’t enough room in my brain.
I’m sitting there trying to play but I’m just thinking about all the things I need to do tomorrow. Or this week. Or this month.
There is just too much to think about that I can no longer enjoy not thinking.
Yeah the very top post on hot right now has 9 comments lmao.
There is no one here. I mean I love the platform and the apps. I don’t go to Reddit anymore on my phone. But there’s no one here.
If I don’t go to Reddit at least once per day I’m going to miss news and events that are important to me.
Are people not using Memmy?
I can’t keep up with all the apps anymore.
Working in bad conditions so you can talk down to people that you perceive as lesser humans than you is the #1 interest for a lot of the country.
